Week by Week Pregnancy Calendar – Fetal Development Weekly

This pregnancy calendar elaborates the baby development in mother’s uterus from week 1 to week 42. This fetal development weekly calendar also helps you to know the major developments which are taken place throughout your pregnancy trimesters.

FIRST TRIMESTER

You should take balanced diet during your pregnancy first trimester. Your should also start taking nutrition and folic acid. During your first trimester your diet plan should include a lot of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy foods and protein.

Week 1 -2

Pregnancy begins during the first two weeks.  Your pregnancy is calculated from the 1st day of your last menstrual cycle and conception usually takes a week or more to take place.

 Week 3

During the third week the fertilization happens. Newly fertilized egg travels towards the uterus along with fallopian tube, in progress to become an embryo.

Week 4

This is the time your newly formed baby’s specialized parts of the body begin to develop. Your pregnancy test may go positive.

Week 5

At week 5, your baby heart and circulatory system develops. Your HCG level becomes high which will help to detect a certain pregnancy using home pregnancy test.

Week 6

At this week your baby is going like crazy. His face taking the shape and he is of pea size (8mm, ¼ Inch in length).

Week 7

Your Baby  brain is developing very fast during week 7. Baby is of size of blueberry about a half inch in length.

Week 8

At this week your baby starts to move in the uterus. During this week you may start having morning sickness. Your baby is of raspberry about 18mm during this time of pregnancy.

Week 9

Your baby is now a fetus and an ultrasound scan may be able to pick baby heart beats.

Week 10

At this week your baby muscles develop and her bones and cartilage are built as well. Baby is of size of a prune around 1.3 inches in length.

Week 11

During this week the baby takes the shape of a human and almost fully formed. Baby is of a size of a small lime (1.5 inches).

Week 1 2

It gets doubled in size during the week 12.  Weight is about half of ounce and baby is of size of a plum around 6cm (2.5 inches) in length.

Week 1 3

At this week pregnancy first trimester ends and the baby size is of a peach about 3 inches (8cm) in length.

SECOND TRIMESTER

Your second trimester starts from week 14 and ends at week 27. During second trimester your baby hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, sight and overall body grows fast. Your baby starts sucking and swallowing practice and also starts kicking inside you.

You should include carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals and fats in your diet. Drink a lot of water along with healthy pregnancy exercises for a healthy pregnancy.

Week 1 4

At this week your baby liver starts its job and kidneys make urine as well. Your baby is about 1.5 ounce and 3.4 inches in length.

Week 1 5

Your baby joints and limbs are on move and she is making lot of progress. Baby is of size of a navel orange about 4 inches in length and 2.5 ounces in weight.

Week 1 6

Your baby can hear you now, her lashes, eyebrows and hairs are growing. Baby is roughly of the size of Avocado and about 3.5 ounces.

Week 1 7

Baby Skeleton changes from soft cartilage to bones, growing a thicker and stronger umbilical cord too. Baby is roughly of the size of pomegranate about 5 inches in length and 5 ounces in weight.

Week 1 8

Your baby is on move now, you may feel her twisting, rolling, punching and kicking inside you.

Week 1 9

Your baby’s skin is developing and growing more meat.  He is about the size of a mango, 6 inches long and 8.5 in weight.

Week 20

Senses of the baby grow during this week.   All five senses develop in baby brain such as sense of taste, nerve cells, hearing, sight and smell. Your bay is about 10 ounces in weight.

Week 21

This is the time you may like to find out your baby gender.  Baby is of the length of a carrot about 10.5 inches in length, and about 12.5 ounces in weight.

Week 22

Baby’s eyes and lips are more developing, her sleeping cycle is about 12-14 hours long now. Baby is the size of a coconut, about 11 inches in length and 15-16 ounces in weight.

Week 23

Your baby faces is fully formed and she can listen to your heart beats and outside loud voices as well. Baby is roughly the size of a grapefruit.

Week 24

Baby grows almost 4 ounces in this week almost a foot long of the size of a ear of corn.

Week 25

Your baby is growing more fat and more hair during this week. Baby is about 14 inches in length.

Week 26

During this week your baby may start to open eyes. Baby is about 2 pounds in weight.

Week 27

Baby lungs are growing rapidly, now baby start breathing and taking amniotic fluid instead.  Your baby is roughly 13.5 – 15 inches and 1.5-2.5 pounds in weight till the end of your second trimester.

THIRD TRIMESTER

This is the final trimester and you should take more and good fats during this period. Fats you take should come mostly from nuts, yogurt, eggs, cheese, olive oil and salmon fish.

Week 28

Your baby grows more fats and can blink her eyes. Baby is of the size of eggplant and about 15 inches in length.

Week 29

Baby’s muscles and lungs are continued to mature. Baby is roughly over 15 inches in length.

Week 30

Your baby brain develops more and it gets smarter. About 15.5 inches in length, of butternut size and 2 ½ pounds in weight.

Week 32

During this time your baby may practice survival skills such as breathing and sucking. You may feel some Braxton Hicks contractions as well.

Week 33

Your bay immune system boosts during this time. She is as big as a squash, about 3 pounds in weight.

Week 34

Your baby head weight increases as her brain grows and you may feel some pressure over your bladder.

Week 35

Now your baby hearing is developed fully and she responds to noises as well. She is of the size of a pineapple, roughly over 18 inches and over 5 pounds in weight.

Week 36

Your baby is growing almost an ounce per day. Baby is almost 6 pounds in weight and 18 ½ inches in length from head to toe.

Week 37

During this time your baby practicing her skills like breathing, moving and tuning.

Week 38

Your baby really plump up and have a firm grip too. Baby is almost 7 pounds in weight and over 19 inches.

Week 39

Your baby is full term and sign of labor may start appearing and becoming clear.

Week 40

You are waiting for your baby’s arrival and he or she is plumping up a bit more during this period. The pregnancy officially ends during week 40.

Week 41 – 42 (Overdue Pregnancy)

Pregnancy after week 40 is said overdue and you are expected to have real labor pains. Baby hair and nails grow even longer during that time.
