Calories to Be Taken In The First Trimester

Foods that are rich in fiber will make it difficult for you to digest in the first trimester. Try taking the smoothie made with frozen fruit, spinach and greek yogurt. It will give you good nutrients and these foods will be easy for you to digest.
Avoid foods containing artificial flavors, colors, dyes, additives, preservatives, trans fats, hydrogenated oils and chemicals because they are not easy on stomach. Calories to Be Taken In The Second Trimester
During the second trimester when you feel better and your morning sickness is also getting better, you should start adding additional 300-350 calories per day. For example if your per day calorie intake was 1700 calories per day before, you should eat 2000 calories per day during second trimester.
During the second trimester, women don’t feel nausea and their morning sickness gets to go away so they should concentrate over eating healthy food but make sure what you are eating, your stomach can easily tolerate it. It is the time when your baby will depend on the placenta for taking nutrition. ‘
You can eat potatoes, fruits like strawberries, bananas, apples, blue berries and also take cheese. If you like to eat unhealthy food, check if does not contain high fructose corn syrup, chemicals or, trans fats type things.
Calories to Be Taken In The Third Trimester
During the third trimester, you also need to take at least 300 extra calories. But you may feel heart burn very often. The solution to heart burn is that you can break your big meals into several small meals. It will help your stomach in digesting the food with ease and you will get rid of the heart burn.
Taking 300 extra calories during third trimester of the pregnancy is really difficult but still you need it so add some nuts, whole grains besides fruits and vegetables. You can supplement fish oil at least once a week.
